This time, it’s an undead knight with a murderous mission to fulfil, but there are ways to stop him, and he is not as bad as he first might seem.
Wilderness encounters are always good to have handy. Here is a full encounter with a unique undead NPC that can be thrown into most adventures or campaigns.
This encounter is written as an additional one for theAngels & Devils Trilogy, but can be used pretty much right away in most games – just insert one of your party’s long-term opponents as the responsible for this undead curse.

The trilogy is designed for characters of levels 6-8. The three adventures come with the Heaven & Hell Codex, full of new material for this trilogy and your own games. There are unique magic items, such as the holy sword Devil’s Bane. Other insidious and deadly items come from the Lower Planes, such as the Red-Eyed Box. You’ll find angelic boons and blessings for your player characters, and diabolical feats and powers. There are new types of angels: celestial agents, and grey fallen angels. And new types of devils: cutter devils, slithering devils, not to forget the hellfire lions, who can drag their prey with them to Hell! A gallery of full-fledged NPCs is included, as well as a diabolical cult.

North of Zinamistra, past the mountains, lie the Vermilion Highlands. Take the mountain road to reach the dwarven stronghold of Cragtop Citadel. Unravel the citadel’s mysteries. Frightful discoveries await! The party gets embroiled in a truly diabolical plot that threatens all.
Equipped with a map of the Vermilion Highlands, the party must venture out to warn its people of the devil incursion. Light the celestial beacons and prepare your defenses! But can you find and persuade a fallen angel to help you rather than to end your life? And are you able to claim the legendary angel blade: Devil’s Bane? Diabolical cultists, real devils, and creatures native to the region will all try to stop you.
In the climactic final part of the trilogy, the party must find a way to the very heart of evil. The vast halls of the dwarven kingdom are now lit by hellfires. Do you dare to take the long, dark roads under the mountains? They will lead you to your greatest fear. Can you face the general of the infernal armies: the pit fiend Baaldemor? Unless his plans are thwarted, hellfire will reign…

The Lost Convent is a dark mystery adventure suitable for a party of any level and size!
This D&D 5E “one-shot” adventure is 17 pages long and can be played in one session. It’s easy to use in most campaign worlds, as a side-trek. It’s written for the campaign world whereTo Catch A Unicorntakes place, and can be played as an entry or exit session to that adventure.
The party comes upon a lone convent in the wilderness. The characters must learn its dark secret and survive the night. The convent’s particular secret makes it possible for a party of any level and size to play the adventure straight away, with minimal need for the DM to change or rescale the encounters. But be warned – combat and lethal dangers do await…! 🙂
The adventure is available for free to all Night Owl subscribers. Just sign up on this website and the adventure will be sent as a PDF to your email. Links to separate digital files of the adventure’s maps are also included.

Hardcover versions of the adventure To Catch A Unicorn have been released on DriveThruRPG! There is both the regular version of the adventure and the Special Edition. The Special Edition features additional “secret chapters” with witch’s brews, potions and weird magic items, and more… The regular adventure version is also available in softcover.
This is my first printed book available on DriveThruRPG, so it’s a real pleasure to finally be able to present it. All versions come in premium colour and with the best paper quality – I’m really happy with how they turned out! 🙂 It’s taken a lot of coffee and tea to reach this stage! 😉

Having now passed the pledge-period mid-point of the Kickstarter for To Catch A Unicorn, it’s a good moment to make a little update here.
First of all, wow! The interest and support has been really amazing and far beyond what I could have expected when launching this my first Kickstarter. Thank you so much to all the amazing backers who have joined in already! The Kickstarter was funded in just over 2 hours and since then we have unlocked a number of Stretch Goals that will definitely make the product so much better!
So I wanted to mention one of the great developments here. Thanks to the great support from all backers, the battle & building maps of the key adventure sites will be something quite special. They will be made by the amazing VENATUS MAPS. They produce top-notch RPG colour maps. This will make it possible to have both beautifully rendered and also really functional site maps. These should also be usable as VTT maps. The maps will even show you what these exciting locations look like from the outside. You have in this post an example of a Venatus map from their website, just to show you what I mean.
I’m quite excited over this development, which will really make the adventure module even more appealing visually – and even easier to use.
And there is more, much more to come …! To Catch A Unicorn is coming together in a really great way!
